Next tool done: Magic wand.

The magic wand selects cubes of the same color either contiguous or spread over the matrix.

What's new:
I added a field to enter a tolerance value. So now you can select colors that don't necessarily have to be exactly the same.

Next tool done: Paint Bucket

The paint bucket paints cubes of the same color, either contiguous or spread over the matrix.

Tool options:
- Contiguous
- Fill Hollow
- Tolerance

What's new:
Like with the magic wand I added a field to enter a tolerance value. So now you can paint colors that don't necessarily have to be exactly the same.

New Tool Added: Plant

The Plant Tool plants objects from the library at the clicked point.

I had a change of plans today concerning the library. At first I thought the workflow with the library would be: dbl click on a library object and it is imported to the stage, centered.
But that's not good enough if you want to add multiple objects at different places. So I added the plant tool today. The workflow is now: Dbl clicking a library item activates it for planting. Internally, behind the scenes, the qmo file is then loaded and all matrices are combined to a single one. Afterwards the Plant tool is automatically selected and you are ready for planting. You can either click on the ground to plant it there or click on a matrix. When clicking on a matrix the position is determined by the cube and what side of that cube you have clicked. So you can plant on top of something but as well to it's side.

By coding the plant tool I have additionaly coded two things: I can extend the combine modifier to combine more than 2 matrices. And I can test now where the mouse is over the groundplane which enables me to do something like this: creating standard primites on the stage and not via the create dialogue.

You could have "locked" library objects. You wouldn't be able to edit them. The great thing would be that you could store just one of them in the memory, and then only the positions, angle and other modifiers of the others.

Oh yeah and finally, of course, wanted to suggest that months ago :) Symmetric objects. 1/2, 1/4 symmetric, would be even bigger ease off for the ram. Which brings me to, could we probably have another view for symmetric/library object edit? With levels, hierarchy and such. Like a library of the scene.

That's a very good point Dany, I planned instancing for the next abstraction layer on top of QubeModel. But I had a very long thinking on this topic at the weekend. Unfortunately this would effect a large part of the core code of Qubicle and I am not sure if i can get this into qubicle 2.0.0.0 but let's see how things go.

Ah and nice inspiration about the symmetric objects...
