Gray screen thing

When I try to get into matrix edit mode, there is a gray layer over the whole thing with an arrow in the lower right corner. I really think this is a great voxel editor but the gray screen thing wont minimize or leave! Please help!

I think you oversized your 2nd view window. Resize it using that arrow down right or hit View -> Reset Floating menus to default. To hide this 2nd view hit the 2nd view button in the "Display Options Bar" while in matrix mode like shown here:
